"Return to Our Roots" - a trip to West Africa in JUNE 2010
On this 13-day excursion to Senegal and Gambia, West Africa, travelers will be able to experience life for villagers in rural Africa, trace Alex Haley's "Roots," Visit slave quarters at Goree Island, and meet Fairtrade artisans one-on-one. Travelers will also be delivering medical supplies to various outlets in need, as a humanitarian aspect of the trip. "New Year, New Hope" - a trip to Saint Lucia in DEC 2010-JAN 2011
On this 8-day mission-driven trip to the lush island of Saint Lucia, travelers will work hard with Miranda and Baptiste to contruct a playground for the village children in Grace, adjacent to the village's only preschool for kids as our New Year's Gift of Hope. Participants will also get a chance to visit the regional Fairtrade office, roast their own coffee, pound their own cocoa, make coconut oil, drink fresh lemonade, and take a day or two to enjoy the mountains, rainforest, and coral reefs. Information and signup forms for this trip will be available in late 2009 or early 2010.
